Our Philosophy

Green construction materials are an important part of any project, but true sustainability lies deeper. Sustainable strategies are those decisions that are both good for people, and good for the planet. Sustainability isn't one-size-fits-all. It's a process of discovery and learning. Our goal is to help you define what sustainability means for you. We help you understand the impacts of specific strategies for our region and your project.

We will work with you to prioritize strategies that are important to you and those with the highest benefit to your project. Your core values and overall project goals will dictate the approach: We will explore the connection to natural systems (along with their restoration), reduction of energy use, enhancing a healthy indoor environment, and the use of locally sourced materials with a focus on the benefits to our local economy. We also consider building the right size for the long-term, and aging-in-place.

Feasibility is an important part of sustainability. The strategies we pursue must be appropriate to your building and your land, your way of living and your budget.

We will help you find clear direction so that your project reflects what you hold dear. We can also discuss the benefits of third-party verification programs such as LEED, Built Green, and the Living Building Challenge.
